Opening the world of Ghibli…

The tools I work with, split by how well I really know them. I'd rather be clear about the difference between what I've shipped to production and what I'm still learning.

How this site was built

This tribute is a hand-made project, designed by me in Figma and built without templates. Under the hood:

  • Blazor Server on .NET 8, with interactive server rendering and prerendering.
  • Tailwind CSS 4 with a custom theme for the Ghibli palette and fonts.
  • English and Portuguese through .resx files and ASP.NET Core localization, chosen by cookie.
  • Light, dark and system themes through JS interop and localStorage, applied before the first paint.
  • Posters from the Studio Ghibli API and ratings from the OMDb API, through typed HttpClients and an in-memory cache.
  • All texts, including the studio's history and the film synopses, written for this site.
